I’m Natalie, a functional medicine dietitian, exercise physiologist, writer, creator, and healer.

I love all things food and nutrition- and talk about it for a living! My goal is to help you discover the root cause of disease and fully heal and balance from the inside out.

All that combined and you have the functional medicine foodie!

I specialize in gut health and hormone balancing, both of which go hand in hand!

My Background

I have a comprehensive background in nutrition and wellness that includes:

Master’s degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine through a collaborative program provided by the University of Western States and the Institute of Functional Medicine. This is the only fully accredited Master’s program in Functional Medicine.

Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from University of Northern Colorado

Bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science from Black Hills State University

Certified Exercise Physiologist & Certified Personal Trainer from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)

I’ve been in the nutrition and wellness industry

For over 15 years

I have dealt with my own health issues firsthand including *reversing my own autoimmune disease* (it wasn’t easy but it can happen!) and working with thousands of patients to heal their gut and balance hormones.

I currently do a variety of things as a registered dietitian nutritionist and functional medicine practitioner including:

  • Own a successful private practice, Natalie Nicole Nutrition, LLC, where I provide comprehensive nutrition consulting to individuals and groups; teach nutrition seminars; and run corporate wellness programs for various companies.
  • Work as a corporate wellness dietitian for Crossover Health at Apple, Inc. in Austin, Texas.
  • Do medical reviews and write nutrition and wellness articles for popular wellness sites including Healthline MediaGreatistMedical News Today, and WellnessVerge.
  • AND- am the one behind this website as the Functional Medicine Foodie, where I sift through all of the (mis)information in the world of health to bring you evidence based articles and resources on all things health and wellness- including my favorite topics: hormones and gut health!
